The Ground Itself:

The Away End
The Hammers’ ground is one of the best we will visit with the Alex all season. The completion of the Dr. Martens Stand, a two-tiered 15,000-seater stand was the first step in West Ham’s plan for a top class Premiership venue that is planned to hold 41,000 supporters. The new stand is the grounds centrepiece, but the redevelopment has been indefinitely halted due to financial restraints and relegation to the Nationwide League last season. Away supporters sit in the Centenary Stand, a two-tiered end that houses up to 3,600 visiting fans. Opposite is the home end, the Sir Bobby Moore Stand, named after the former Hammers and England captain. This is similar to the away end in looks. Lastly, a reminder of the old Boleyn Ground with the East Stand. This stand was eyed for redevelopment before it was postponed.

Parking?

On match days, parking is very Look for spaces on the left of Barking Road, once you are past the lights at East Ham Town Hall. Alternatively, park at Newham General Hospital on Prince Regent Lane (15 minutes walk from the ground), where there is a pay and display car park, which costs £1.50 for four hours, or £3.50 for six.

Nearest Train Station?

The nearest tube station to the ground is Upton Park, which is on the District, Hammersmith & City Lines. The station is only a short walk from the ground. Please note that West Ham tube station is nowhere near the ground. Be warned, the queue at the tube station is notoriously horrendous.

Forest Gate station is about 25 minutes walk from the ground, and it's much less busy than Upton Park Station after the final whistle. It is served by Great Eastern trains from Liverpool Street Station.

Want a drink?

Away fans are generally advised to stay clear of local pubs around the ground, but there are plenty of pubs along Plaistow High Road that are only a 5-10 minute walk from the stadium. A word of warning, keep Crewe colours covered up in an around the pubs. Why not have a drink in the ground? It is one of the only grounds I’ve come across that serves alcohol to away supporters.
