The Ground Itself:
The two ends of Selhurst Park are by far the most impressive structures that the stadium has to offer. The Holmesdale Road Stand is a two-tiered stand that attracts the vast majority of home supporters and offers good views. Opposite is the Whitehorse Road Stand, a single tiered affair with a glut of executive boxes perched on top, with a peculiar large video screen above of these. Both ends are pretty new and pleasing to the eye.
In contrast, the other stands are in need of a facelift. The Arthur Wait Stand is a single tiered stand that looks old and scruffy, with many supporting pillars obstructing views for fans. The wooden seating does nothing to enhance the image of it either. It’s just our luck that away fans get housed in this one then….
Similarly, the Main Stand is looking its age, with retro floodlights placed along the roof, and millions of pillars across it in order to stop the roof from caving in.
Want a drink?
Good news for those who fancy a pre-match drink: Selhurst Park is surrounded by more Campaign For Real Ale listed pubs than any other ground. Two Wetherspoons pubs are situated near the ground, along with at least six or seven other pubs.
Nearest Underground Station: Selhurst or Thornton Heath. NB: Crystal Palace Station is nowhere near Selhurst Park.
Where to Park?
Street parking is widely available around the ground.
