Referee - Roy Pearson - Peterlee | Linesman - Gary Foulkes - Mersyside | Roy Pearson referee's a match for the first time since May when he refereed our game against Cardiff at Gresty Road. That game went with two yellow's being handed out through the excitement of promotion with Lunt picking up a card and Cardiffs Boland always in the book.
Last season was a good season for Pearson with just 4 reds being handed out in 35 games. Pearson also refereed the game at Maine Road in the Worthington Cup last season, with a yellow going to Jonah.
In 01-02 he gave out 8 cards in two Alex games. Foster and Sodje got booked at Wolves before Smith, Sorvel and Hulse were all booked at Bradford towards the end of the relegation season. The other 3 going to the opposition. At the end of that season he had only given out 1 red in 32 games.
In 00-01 he made one booking in his only Alex game, against Blackburn, when he booked Sodje. Again, another good record with just 3 reds in 40 games. In his 3 years before that he gave the Alex 3 yellows, 0 reds, in 4 games.
