Laws had a couple of interesting games with Crewe last season. His first was at Vale Park in the 2-0 win and Vale fans protested both goals were offside. A couple of months later and he was referee as we left Edgeley Park winners after beating Stockport 4-1. 6 players were booked in them two games with Brammer and Wright being the only Alex players booked over the 2 games.
Laws does seem card happy and interestingly the only time he kept his cards in his pockets last season was in the FA Cup 3rd Road a between Grimsby and Saturdays opposition Burnley.
Brammer, Walton and Sodje were all booked by Laws over 2 games in 2001-2002. At home vs Forest and vs Sheffield Wednesday in the FA Cup.
Over all Laws has refereed eight Alex games since 1997 and has booked 6 Alex players.
