The Ground Itself:

Derbyshire’s premier club moved to the state of the art Pride Park seven years ago after over 100 years at the Baseball Ground. The Queen opened the new stadium in summer 1997, which has an uncanny resemblance to these new plastic atmosphere arenas like St. Mary’s, The Walkers Stadium, The Riverside, The Britannia Stadium, the list is endless, but Alex fans will watch the reds play at the stadium for the very first time this evening. In fact this will be the first time we have made the trip up the A50 since 1985 when we lost 5-1 in the FA Cup. We have actually never won there…ever.

Due to the monotonous nature of the ground, it is hard to know where to start, so lets think of ourselves first…Away fans sit in the corner between the Toyota West Stand and the Macarthur Glen South Stand and are generally given 3,000 seats.

The ground has some executive boxes somewhat strangely perched in one of the corners and another long row of boxes for the fat cats is dotted along the double-tiered West Stand.

Parking?

A car park is signposted from the A52. Situated on a local College, it costs a scandalous price of £4, and it is about 15 minutes walk from the stadium!

Another idea is to park in the town centre and walk up to the ground or park on the cattle market car park, costing £2. It’s about 5-10 minutes walk from the ground and is just off the A52.

Nearest Train Station?

Derby Station is about fifteen minutes away from Pride Park, and the ground is signposted from the station.

Want a drink? Eating out?

Turn right out of the station and there are two away fan friendly pubs: The Brunswick and The Alexandra Hotel.
