How has Burnley's season gone so far?

Not too well losing the first three games although we were playing better than the results suggest. We finally got our first win on Monday so hopefully that will kick start things.

Fans ambitions for this season?

As always the expectations are too high but given the critical financial situation at the club we should be hoping that we will still be playing 1st Division football in a year's time an obviously without getting too close to the bottom three would be nice.

What's the pre-season been like, transfer activity wise?

This is an interesting question. Because of the finances we have lost a total of 17 players since the end of last season with only five new signings including one loan deal. This has left us short of players and unable to fill the bench on occasions. It has been a summer of unfulfilled hope so far but there is a chance of one or two new additions once the transfer window for Premiership clubs closes.

Star player to look out for?

Despite the lack of players we certainly have some players who can turn a game when we are in possession. Robbie Blake and Glen Little have both been in good form but there again so has Luke Chadwick who only needs the boost of a goal and he will be sensational playing either down the right or the left.

Strong point in the Burnley team?

The team has great togetherness and a very good dressing room under manager Stan Ternent. That is of great help when the odds are heavily stacked against us as they are now.

Weak point in the Burnley team?

The lack of numbers is without doubt the glaring weakness and with no
recognised striker now we are having to play without one and without a strong central midfielder. It does make things difficult.

Know much about the Crewe team? Players that catch your eye etc?

It's two years since we met and the player who stood out then was Rob Hulse who has now moved on. Dean Ashton impressed in a game against us. Although Crewe play good football I have always found them to be an annoying team to play at home with Gradi's style of time wasting and yard stealing. What an achievement for him though given where Crewe were when he first took over more years ago than I care to mention.
