MATCH DAY

After the performance on Saturday you wouldn't be blamed for feeling optimistic as we travel down the M1 to Premiershipboys Leicester. Leicester won promotion last season finishing in second place but the majority of Division One felt conned.

After Leicester were relegated from the premiership in 2001 they hit financial problems and went into administration. The Administrator's allowed Leicester, and Micky Adams, to keep the better of the players whilst they paid off the massive dept. Part of the dept was down to their new 32,000 seater stadium, The Walkers Stadium.

After promotion Leicester and Micky Adams spent less than any other team on improving their squad. All on free signings were Steve Howey, Riccardo Scimeca, Paul Brooker, Danny Coyne, Keith Gillespie, Les Ferdinand, Lilian Nilas, Ben Thatcher, Nicolas Priet, John Curtis & most noticeable of all is former Alex great Craig Hignett.

Leicester haven't had a bad start to their season in the preimership. Sitting happily in 13th have had draws at Soutahampton and Middlesbrough while narrowly losing to big boys Liverpool and Chelsea. Their one win was an impressive one when they thrashed Leeds United 4-0 at the Walkers Stadium.

Manager Micky Adams knows Tuesday night's fixture won't be as easy as it looks for Leicester. "Im not sure Alan (Cork), myself or any of my staff will underestimate Crewe, but i can't promise you that with the players. We will be ramming that message home on Tuesday."

Adams will see himself forced into changes for tonight. Marcus Bent, onloan from Ipswich, will miss the game due to being cup tied from the first round with Ipswich. Gerry Taggert will be out with a calf strain as will Matt Heath. Crewe legend Craig Hignett also set to miss the game after straining his hamstring on Saturday. Les Ferdinand also pulled his hamstring. Adams has also vowed to give some players a rest.

For Crewe there probably won't be any changes to the team that knocked Forest off their feet. Moses is back in training and could make the bench.

Ince, Wright, Foster, Walker, Vaughan, Lunt, Cochrane, Brammer, Rix, Ashton, Jones.

COME ON!!!
DEANO'S GONNA GET YA!
