Crewe went behind as early as the third minute after Sean Devine converted a penalty after Sorvel handled in the area. Crewe though got back on level terms after Sodje hit high and wide and Jack hit wide Hulse lobbed the keeper on the volley after a Lunt free-kick. Hulse put Crewe in the lead 5 minutes later after Brammer squared a pass down the goal line for Hulse to tap in for his 5th goal of the season.

Despite pressure from Wycombe late on Crewe held on for the win and move up to 3rd in the table and only 3 points off the top after an 8 game unbeaten run.
