Today saw an important 2-1 win over Barnsley. Not the most significant but we were never really in trouble of losing the game. Barnsley's goal was nothing more than a fluke. God knows what happened but it looked like a bad cross which hit the far post, Ince just couldn't work out where the ball was with his back to goal but when he turned around and saw the ball he tried to scoop it off the line only to knock it into the net.

No less than a minute later Super Sorvel, who was by far the best player on the pitch, smashed a curling volley into the bottom right hand corner - no less than what he deserved, a top performance. The Alex should have had a penalty just before half time when Hulse got an obvious shove in the back when going for a header - god knows how he didn't get the pen.

However justice was made when a BRAMMER(Hear that boo boys?) 20 yard pass found Foster on the right wing, he slipped and slid till he toe poked a ball accross goal where Hulse was and from 5 yards out chipped it over the keeper. 2-1 and his finger to his lips, obviously a sign for the boo boys.

It was the 101st Alex goal of the season in all competitions. It was also a new club record of 84 points in one season, our best ever. With all these records being broken and being in 2nd place there is just no place for booing.

Onto the promotion race. We are now 5 points ahead of Cardiff, who are 3rd place. Cardiff play their game in hand against Bristol City on Tuesday night. A draw would be the best result as that would mean a win on Saturday would see promotion, a draw with Bristol and Cardiff dropping points would also do it. A Cardiff win would put them 2 points behind us but put Bristol City out of the race for 2nd place, it would mean a win on Saturday and a Wigan win against Cardiff would see us promoted, a draw and a Cardiff loss would take it to the last game with Cardiff needing a 7+-0 win. There are so many possibilitys but a draw would be fantastic. We do however have to beat QPR who are slowly but surely making progress and have slipped up into 4th.

Oldham are the first of the top 6 to be totally out of the automatic promotion race.

A good support is needed at Loftus Road because no matter what happens tomorrow night we can get promotion there WHATEVER so come on.... WE CAN DO IT AND WE WILL DO IT!!!

Time to support the team.
