Hulse scored his 14th and 15th goal of the campaign to move him into the Division Two's top scorer spot and believe it or not he is now Britains 3rd top scorer.
Dario fielded more or less the same team and formation as that who thrashed Mansfield in midweek, the only change being Ince in for Bankole. Steve Jones wasted Crewe's first wonder chance when Jack pulled it back for him but Jones miss timed the ball and never got a touch to hit it in the back of the net. The Vale were threatening and looked a stronger side than that which Jack scored twice against in the Worthington Cup. After threatening play from Vales star players Bridge Wilkinson and Paynter it was Crewe who broke the deadlock through Hulse. A passing move saw Hulse break through past Collins to smash in off the post. In the second half Crewe were well and truly out played for the first 10 or so minutes, it also resulted in the equaliser from vetern Brett Angell. Bridge-Wilkinson shot down the throat of Ince before Ashcroft shot straight at Wright from a free-kick. After much pressure though the equlaiser was always going to come. A long free-kick into the box allowed Angell to head into the back of the net. Bridge Wilkinson hit a shot straight at Ince after turning David Wright inside out. However it was Crewe's day when Ashtons first touch from a header found Hulse who nodded into the back of the net 9 minutes from time.
