Crewe cruise to victory
Chris Lewington's goalkeeping howler cost Dagenham dearly as Crewe extended their winning run to three games with a 4-1 victory at Gresty Road.
Brian Woodall had given the visitors the lead before Greg Pearson netted his second goal in as many games for the Alex to level things up before half-time.
The Daggers gave as good as they got but when Lewington's air shot allowed Abu Agogo's backpass to trickle into the net the floodgates opened and Adam Dugdale and Nick Powell completed the rout.
Home captain Dave Artell gifted Dagenham the lead with just 16 minutes gone. The defender's poor clearance hit Woodall, leaving the striker all the time in the world to curl a simple finish around the helpless Steve Phillips.
Crewe created chances but Lewington saved Powell's follow-up shot after good work from Byron Moore, while Pearson just failed to connect with an Ashley Westwood cross.
But Pearson did find the right connection to level four minutes before the break. Jamie Lowry's free-kick was chested down by Artell and Pearson stuck the ball home on the half volley from six yards out.
Pearson almost put the Alex ahead early in the second half but his angled header was cleared off the line by Dominic Green.
All the visitor's hard work went to waste thanks to Lewington's 71st-minute blooper.
Dugdale then rose to head home Lowry's 83rd-minute free-kick before Powell made it four with a superb chipped finish three minutes later.
