Zayed Gets Praise From Bray Boss

Bray Wanderers boss Pat Devlin rates his top scorer very highly saying he's rather skilful for a 6ft striker.

"I have known him since he was aged 14 in our centre of excellence at St Joseph's. He is one of four from his age group who have gone on to make the Irish under-20 squad in the recent FIFA World Cup.

"Eamon's main strength is he scores goals, spectacular goals, and he is very skilful at taking on and beating players.

"He is a fine player and if he was an English under-21 international he'd cost a lot of money."

Zayed has been at Arsenal and Leicester in his career but never got the break in English football before signing for Bray Wanderers, where he scored 25 goals in 52 matches. The 20 year old had a lot of fans with Crewe, Moscow and Everton trialing him and even reports that Barcelona were following his progress. So, when Zayed got his chance from Crewe he kept his faith in them - by agreeing to turn down a late bid from another club... as Pat Devlin explains:

"I think Crewe are a little bit fortunate because a second club got involved last Friday and made us an offer for Eamon.

"But we decided to honour our commitment to Crewe as it is a good opportunity for Eamon."
