Crewe goalkeeper Ben Williams is believed to be in hospital suffering from an unconfirmed case viral meningitis. Williams missed Saturday's game at Preston complaining of a cold though his illness appears to be more severe than first thought. Williams remains in hospital under observation as the doctors continue to monitor his situation. Consequently, Dario has closed the club's training ground until Thursday in order to minimise the effect on the rest of the players. A consequence of this will be further complications for the Gareth McAuley deal who had a deadline of today to come and see Dario to discuss the possibility of a move.

Our best wishes go to Ben Williams and we wish him a speedy recovery.
