However. It’s not the suspension that has got fans talking it’s whether we will see the Nigerian playing for Crewe again. We all know Dario and Sodje don’t get on or probably even talk to each other. There’s major friction between Sodj’ and Daz through Sodje’s style of play and temperament. It’s been there from day one and after being dropped a few times and a occasion when Sodje stormed out of the ground while warming up against Burnley a couple of seasons back in a 4-2 win, maybe his first sending off in his Alex career will seal his fate?
Sodje only got into the team through an injury to David Wright, who is out for 3 to 4 weeks with a groin strain. He lasted no more than 10 seconds before being booked and became the fastest player to be booked this season. It was a high and late challenge on Lee McCulloch, which saw the yellow come out, many Alex fans though a red would have been fairer.
16 minutes on and Sodje was off for supposedly elbowing a Wigan player. This was probably harsh on Sodje as he went for the header with intent on getting the ball and not injuring the player… unlike that tw*t Tony Dinning.
So. Sodje yet again let himself down, showing he’s bad at making decisions and important ones of those. Dario may have been right all along… Sodje is a liability to the team a lot of the time. Sodje gets by with his bandannas and impressing the 10 year olds but when it comes to on the pitch I personally don’t believe he’s good enough or reliable enough to stay at the club.
It’s all about the team sheet on Saturday, which will seal his fate. If the bandanna man appears on that team sheet then maybe he will get another chance, if Sodje is left to rue that red card at home… will we will the big man grace the Gresty Road pitch again?
