Another season draws to a close and the only consistent thing about results this season is the inconsistency. However at least the fans had the opportunity to party at the Crewe ASi end of season extravaganza.

Westwood with a double

The evening started off with the player of the season awards with Ashley Westwood picking up, as John Brayford did last year, both Player and Newcomer of the Season awards. Ashley also picked up the Sandbach Travelling Alex player of the year. Goal of the season was award to Calvin Zola for his goal at Bradford. This were a number of contenders for this prize, with Shaun Millers penalty at Port Vale being a popular choice

A new award was created presented this year, the Presidents Award which is to be awarded to someone who has shown outstanding contribution in the cause of Crewe Alexandra. This was presented by Crewe ASi President, Neil Baker to Andy Scoffin, whose passion for the club, even with personal health problems, has never diminished - Get Well Soon Railwayman.

Thanks to all the players and management team who attended. It is much appreciated by all the fans.

Once the presentations were finished, and a sumptuous evening meal was served and devoured, then it was down to the entertainment for the evening with Night Owl Disco and a Take That tribute band ensuring the dance floor was kept busy until the early hours of Sunday morning.

Hopefully next year there really will be something to celebrate and we have already checked that the DJ does have the Queen song "We are the Champions" - well we can live in hope.
