Walton, Sorvel and Jack were all offered a 1 year extension to their contracts but after a couple of weeks of consideration Walton has turned down the contract and sets the rumours of him signing for Bristol City alight again. Sorvel also looks set to reject a contract.
Beswicks solicitors, who are dealing with Sorv and Walton to the Sentinel: "They are both considering their options at the moment," said Phil Sproson.
"We've sat down with both and told them they need to look at the way football is structured at the moment. We've suggested they hang on to see what happens.
"It is a dilemma for both players as they have got families to keep and, at their age, the issue of contracts is important for them.
"They have not refused the Crewe offers, although they were disappointed by them."
"A one-year extension is not enough security for players of Neil and Dave's age and then they have been offered such a dramatic drop in salary too," added Sproson.
"They could understand if they were struggling at the bottom end of the League, but they've both been very prominent in helping take Crewe back up towards the First Division.
"It is fair to say both Dave and Neil are very experienced players with a wealth of First and Second Division football behind them.
"Dave is one of the top centre-halves in the Second Division and Neil is one of the best anchor midfielders. The question is how are they going to be replaced?
"By no means does it mean they are not signing for Crewe, but they are seriously considering the offers that have been made."
Dario says he doesn't blame Walton due to the massive drop in wages, which is thought to be 40%.
Meanwhile Jack looks set to sign his contract sometime next week.
