Crewe reserves travelled to Prenton Park to play Tranmere's reserves. It was a goal from loanee Jonathan Walters that secured a 1-0 win. Walters was being watched closely by Dario who may be convinced to extend his loan spell.

The likes of Richard Walker and Neil Sorvel both played and came through the match fine. The down point was a ankle injury to Allan Smart.
