Vaughany could be more effective than Giggs

Vaughany moved up onto the left wing against Reading after a season and a half at left back. Anthony Tonkin moved in at left back to fill in behind Vaughan and Dario Gradi says that Vaughan can become a outstanding player on the wing, whilst if he stay as a full back he could only have been a decent player.
With Vaughan featuring more and more in the Wales squad Dario says, ahead of their 2 legged affair against Russia in the Euro 2004 qualifiers Play-Offs, that Vaughan could be more effective than Man Utd's Ryan Giggs.

"I think Vaughany could be more effective than Giggs on the left. You have to say, despite his ability, Giggs' influence on games when he is playing down the left is not fantastic by any means. David could offer a lot there and I just wonder whether they're aware of that as they will have watched him recently for us at left-back.

"But I'm anxious to get him forward and I think he will play that role in a very influential way. I think he can become a goalscorer. We have been putting him at left-back because we needed one, but he can be a really outstanding player further forward."

Vaughan is in the squad that will face Russia, twice, later this month, it's unknown if he will get a game.
