David Vaughan was left out of the 16 man Wales squad that faced Russia in Moscow on Saturday afternoon. The 20 year old was beaten to the left side by 2nd Division Grimsby's Darren Barnard and Man Utd's Ryan Giggs, and was even left off the bench. Former Alex midfielder, Robbie Savage did play and played the full 90 minutes with an energetic display, as usual, despite injury fears during the week.

Mark Hughes' Wales played out a 0-0 draw leaving them with a great chance of qualifying for Euro 2004 in the Euro 2004 Qualifying 2nd Leg on Wednesday at the Millennium Stadium.
