Crewe manager Dario Gradi looks set to tie the following deals with Eddie Johnson, Gareth Taylor and Tony Grant.
Former academy player Johnson has been offered a two year deal after his release from Manchester United. 21-year old and Chester-born Johnson came back to the club last July on a six month loan spell and was targeted by Hull City manager Peter Taylor during the transfer window in January but Johnson failed to agree terms after a fee had been agreed. Johnson made 16(6 sub) appearances for the Alex scoring five goals in the process.
Former Burnley, Everton and Man City player Tony Grant has been offered a one-year contract with the Alex. 31-year old Grant settled into the midfield at Crewe after he signed in January. Even though he was on a week to week contract at Bristol City he could not sign for Crewe until the window opened in January. During his spell Grant made 10 appearances for the Railwaymen.
The other loan player Gareth Taylor has also been offered a one-year contract. 33-year old Taylor has just been released at fellow League One rivals Nottingham Forest may opt for the Alex as commuting for the former Welsh International will be minimal from his Knutsford home. Taylor who was captain at Forest last season became available in January made 15 appearances scoring goals in the process.
Dario hopes that all three will sign as he plans an assault on a swift return to the Championship.
