Buxton featured in Burton Albions 1-0 win over League One Walsall at the weekend and his performance convinced Nigel Clough to offer the 23-year-old a contract at the Pirelli Stadium.
Brewers boss Clough told burtonmail.co.uk: 'We've been talking and talking for weeks, and if you'd said at the start of pre-season, who were the two signings at the top of our list, it was Greg Pearson and Jake Buxton, and now we've got both of them.'
