Tonkin interest looks dead

The left back has been chased by Crewe for the past five or six weeks but the interest in Tonkin looks over after being out priced by Carlton Palmer. Tonkin has sat out in the cold with Stockport since handing in his transfer request last monday. Tonkin hasn't even been on the bench for the hatters.

Tonkin had his sights set on Crewe but due to Carlton Palmers spite, more than anything, it looks like his move is dead. Dario will leave his interest there : "There's nothing new with Anthony Tonkin. I think we've gone as far as we can go with that one."

Dario still believes that a left back is needed so that Vaughan can play a more active role on the wing. "We are still looking for a left back as this would give us more options. It would allow us to release Vaughan further forward and Ben (Rix) can offer competition for places in midfield."
