Boyle has had league experiance at Championship side Norwich City in 2006 making three appearances for the Canaries before injury cut short his loan spell.
Crewe have been looking for a left back after Billy Jones was ruled out until the end of February and also the club sending Ryan Lynch out on loan to Stafford.
Boyle told the official Everton website, "Traditionally, Crewe have always been renowned for being a footballing side and although things haven`t gone well for them lately, I can`t wait to get started"
He added, "They've got a lot of games during my month and if I prove that I am worthy of a place in the team then it will be a chance for me to play regular football. Playing League One football week-in, week-out is far better for me than waiting for reserve matches to come along."
