Tierney, just 29, was a product of the Alex academy made his debut for the railwaymen in 1993 and went on to make 106 appearances for the club before moving to Exeter City in 1998.
Franny moved to Doncaster Rovers in 2001 and scored the winning goal in the 2002 Conference play-off final which took them to the Football League for the first time.
