The search for the new striker...

The transfer window closes on March 25th and Dario has stated all season of wanting a new striker. The unsuccessful signing of Allan Smart led to Eamon Zayed coming in onloan but he has failed to shine, scoring once in several reserve games. The return of Craig Hignett was supposed to offer more goals to the team but poor performances from Craig has seen the club re-think. Before all that Dario failed in three bids for Shrewsbury Town's Luke Rodgers, ending when Shrewsbury stated they wanted £1million.

Dario still wants a striker to offer more options than just Jones and Ashton, who've scored 28 between them this season, and doesn't want a temporary replacement.

He told the official site: "I'm not just looking for a loan player, but I'd like to bring someone in permanently if I could but I want to boost the competition fro places up front.

"At the moment Ashton and Jones are almost automatic choices which is something I don't like. I thought our strength last year was that we had Rob (Hulse) and Rodney Jack as well."
