The Football League could face a major make over "The Observer" reported. The Football League have brought in advertising agency TBWA to try and revamp the face of Division One and make it more attractive to other football fans.

The changes proposed is a possible name change of Division One to 'The Football League Championship'. It is thought to be behind helping refresh its popularity and exposure.

The Football League chairmen also want to cut the gap of finances between the Football League and the Premiership.

The Football Leagues commercial director, Richard Masters, said:

"This is all about refreshing and strengthening people's perceptions of the Football League rather than trying to pretend it is something it isn't,"

"We want greater control over our own destiny, a greater distinction of what the League stands for and greater recruitment and retention of supporters."

So to bring out all those armchair fans of this world and get people supporting their local team, all we need to do is change the name. Damn, why didn't I think of that?
