The 21 year old Man Utd keeper has been in outstanding form since signing in March and has won over every Alex fan. A game hasn't gone by where his his ability hasn't been pushed to the limit but he just keeps making save after save.
Alex fans have warmed towards Williams - and vise versa - and it only helped him according to Ben, who spoke to crewealex.net today:
"I have really enjoyed playing here," Williams revealed
"This is a great club and everybody has been really helpful to me. The coaching staff and the other players have been great and the fans have been absolutely amazing towards me.
"The keepers here have been great as well. There's competition for places but there is also a great camaraderie between us. Clayton (Ince), George (Bankole) and Stuart (Tomlinson) have been superb. This has been a great club to come to."
Williams could be playing his last Alex game on Sunday, with Norwich visiting, but any Alex fan will be hoping that he will stay for another season; at least. However, Williams seems to be looking to different challenges next year:
"I am very ambitious. I want to play in the Premiership and I want to win trophies. I'd also like to play for England and when I hang up my gloves I want to say that I have done everything in my career.
"Coming to Crewe has certainly helped with that because the experiences you gain as a young goalkeeper can only help in the future and stand you in good stead."
If Williams continues to impress - and improve - in the way he has done since signing for us then there is no doubt he will soon be Man Utd's number one; if not England's.
