Taylor looks Tranmere bound.

Crewe boss Dario Gradi looks set to miss out on signing Gareth Taylor. Newly installed Tranmere Rovers boss Ronnie Moore has placed the 33-year-old striker on top of his summer shopping list. Moore was quoted in saying that he was looking to bring in at least 10 players as he looks to try and take the Birkenhead outfit of League One.
Moore had been linked with Taylor while he was manager at Oldham Athletic and while Crewe offered a one-year deal to Taylor it seemed that Moore was prepared to offer a two-year deal.
It seems now that Moore wants Taylor to link up with last seasons top goal scorer and former Stoke City striker Chris Greenacre as a potential dangerous strike force as they spearhead a challenge for promotion. Crewe boss Dario Gradi had hoped that Taylor would stay after a successful loan spell last season but Gradi seems reluctant to offer Taylor a two-year deal at the Alexandra Stadium.
Taylor's agent Phil Sproson said “Gareth trained every day he was at Crewe on loan and he has played the games last year, so his fitness is not in doubt.
"I have a feeling he would want to stay at Crewe if they had come up with a second year. But Gareth has gone on holiday now and Dario rarely changes his mind.
"I don't think he'll offer Gareth two years now. But Gareth's had four offers which are all two-year deals.
"Tranmere are keen to partner him with Chris Greenacre, although we are still a long way from agreeing yet."
