Yet again Crewe boss Dario Gradi has been thwarted in his attempts to sign a big central defender. Latest snub has come from another Lincoln City defender this time Jamie McCombe has decided to sign for League One rivals Bristol City. The defender has signed a two year contract with the Robins who had been offered an improved contract at Sincil Bank. Robins boss Gary Johnson said “We are pleased to secure Jamie's services. We had him watched for four to five months – he adds some height to our squad but also nice and mobile for a big lad and a good footballer. Other target Gareth McAuley also of Lincoln City looks set to sign for Championship team Leicester City when he returns from a tour of USA with Northern Ireland.
