The win saw some pressure taken off Stan Terenant but heaped more pressure on Crewe's Steve Holland as the Railwaymen have gone 10 games without a win.

Ternant told Town's official site "It wasn't a comfortable afternoon, but the main thing is that we won as that will do more for the players' confidence than anything," Stan added "I thought we thoroughly deserved to win the game, although they were dangerous on the break."

"I thought we were quite comfortable early on and as usual, we created quite a few chances. We didn't take them, but we eventually forced one in and Craney's finish was superb for the second goal.

"Then there was a breakaway through a ball over the top. I couldn't tell if their lad was offside, but you can normally tell from the reaction of the crowd.

"They changed their system at half-time and dropped a lad in the hole. That caused us some problems, as the players didn't really sort that out as I hoped they would. Crewe got another goal that looked a bit offside to me, but the assistant didn't give it.

"I made a few changes and the lads stuck at it and in the end, Keigan Parker curled one in the top corner for the winner. It was nail-biting, but I felt we did deserve to win the game. We made hard work of it though."
