The 19-year-old striker goes straight into the squad that faces Northampton Town tomorrow.
The move will see the big centre forward who is compared to Kenwynne Jones gain valuable first team experience with the League One club.
French born Baseya joined the Saints back in 2005 from French club Bretigny and played in the Youth side that got to the semi-finals in which he missed a penalty. He has since been playing in the reserves and scored a stunning over-head kick against Millwall in midweek.
Baseya was called up to the full DR Congo squad but the game was cancelled he has however represented Congo at U-20 level but could play for France.
With his performances in the youth team and reserves Baseya signed a professional contract with the Saint that will expire in June 2008.
