Crewe's Neil Sorvel has joined Shrewsbury Town on a free transfer. The midfielder rejected a one-year contract at Crewe in order to secure a longer two-year deal at Shrewsbury even though Crewe were offering more money. Sorvel had been a wonderful servant for the club and appeared in every game last season scoring three goals in the process, including a brace against Watford. Sorvel is considered by many as an unsung hero and is even a cult hero for some. However, most agree that the time is right for Sorvel to move on with the emergence of talents such as Billy Jones and Gary Roberts.
Everyone at Crewe Mad would like to thank Neil Sorvel for his service over the years.
