New number one Clayton Ince is set for a return
Neil Sorvel was absent from the pre-season trip to Portugal this week after suffering the injury on his return to training at Reaseheath a few weeks ago. The decision was based on the fact that the season opener away at Wimbledon is only a matter of weeks away so furhter damage to the injury could have ruled him out of the August 9th clash.

Meanwhile, Crewe received a massive boost with the news of Clayton Ince declaring himself fit for the big game, which will see the biggest Gresty Road crowd since the Manchester City game in spring 2002.

Clayton also missed the Algarve trip, but his rehabilitation has been successful so the clubs new number one goalkeeper will figure.

The fitness of youngsters Paul Edwards, Dean Ashton, Luke Varney and David Vaughan will be assessed by manager Dario Gradi on his return to England later today.
