"Dario is a winner, a fighter"

Following Dario Gradi's routine heart surgery over the weekend, club captain Dave Brammer will have a renewed responsiblity at the club along with Neil Baker and Steve Holland. He spoke to BBC Radio Stoke.

"All we can do is hopefully carry on the work he does with us and try and get performances on the pitch that will boost his spirits and get him back with us."

Richard Walker echoed the sentiments of all the players:

"We all wish him a speedy recovery, we're sure he will because he's a winner, he's a fighter. I'm sure he'll overcome this"
