"Crewe are one of those clubs with no great pretensions. They are great at producing teams and young players and are a great credit to the area.
"Crewe caused us a lot of problems and could maybe have scored two or three goals. We were playing against a team that was very motivated. They really gave everything.
"Our first goal was out of nothing really and made us more comfortable. The second-half was much better. Maybe the pace of the game got to them because they had put a lot into the game."
