Crewe make their first ever visit to the New Meadow (Prostar Stadium) as they lock horns with near neighbours Shrewsbury Town in the first league match between the two teams in 12 years.
Last time Crewe played Shrewsbury in the league they won 1-0 at Gay Meadow and in fact did the double that season when a month later they thumped the Shropshire team 5-1 at Gresty Road.
You have to go back to 1990 for the last time the Shrews beat Crewe with a 1-0 win at Gay Meadow.
The two teams did meet back in 2003 in the LDV Vans trophy when that day Shrewsbury thumped the Railwaymen 4-2 at Gay Meadow.
