About the Ground
Crewe make their first ever visit to Shrewsbury's new stadium which is called the Prostar Stadium after the Kit manufacturers.
The ground was opened in 2007, after they decided to leave their old home Gay Meadow which had been the Shrews home for 97 years. The new stadium has a capacity of 9,875 and is made up of four seperate stands.
Where to Drink
Shrewsbury has an abundance of pubs situated around the town and the one nearest to the station is the Salopian which for a must for real ale lovers.
Near to the stadium there is the Brooklands Hotel and the Charles Darwin pub which is 10 minutes from the ground. Another pub is the Crown which is situated on the banks of the River Severn.
Travel By train
Trains from Crewe to Shrewsbury are frequent with trains edparting Crewe at 11:13, 11:26, 12:12, 13:12 and 13:26 all arriving at 11:41, 12:18, 12:41. 13:41 and 14:18 repespectivily.
Return train times are 17:54, 18:26, 18:35 and 19:55 arriving at 18:25, 19:17, 19:25 and 20:26.
The train is priced at £8.60.
The new ground is about 2 miles away from the railway station and takes around 40mins to walk unless you stop off for a beer. Or you can catch a taxi or there is a bus service that runs from 1pm on matchday taking you right to the ground the charge is £2.50 on the return leg back to the station.

By Car
Distance from Crewe to the Prostar Stadium is 44 miles and will take just over an hour to get there dependent on traffic. Although there is a car park at the ground this is for permit holders only!!
For the Away fan
As expected with a new ground seating is excellent with decent leg space between the rows as for food inside the ground it is your usual football grub Burgers (£3), Cottage Pie(£2.50), Steak Pie (£2.50), Balti Pie (£2.50), Pasties (£2) and Sausage Rolls. Beer is also avaliable inside the ground with a pint of lager costing £2.90 and bitter costing £2.70.
