Dario Gradi has revealed that former Alex-loanee Jon Otsemobor asked to come back to the club this summer. The ex-Liverpool defender spent three months on loan with the Alex and despite his defensive naivities, the full back won many fans over with his ability to gallop forward giving us an extra dimension in our attacks. Dario made an attempt to sign him permanently at the end of his loan spell after Dario had been told that he was to be released by Liverpool at the end of the season. However, Otsemobor's agent persuaded the right-back otherwise resulting in Otsemobor going back to Liverpool to try and win a place in the first team. As a result, Dario went out and signed the tough tackling Darren Moss who impressed many fans even though he was not allowed the time to express himself going forward due to the fact that we had lost Dean Ashton meaning we were more often than not defending.
Dario revealed, "Jon recently contacted me and asked if there was any chance of him coming back here. I thought about it, but my mind was clearly made up because we have enough players who can play at right-back."
