Crewe are negotiating with Polish side Lech Poznan over the transfer of Poland 'B' international Marcin Kus. It is believed Crewe are willing to meet the £80,000 asking price and a deal should be concluded for the right back in January. Kus has been on trial with Antoni Lukasiewicz, a Polish centre-back, though it appears increasingly unlikely that Crewe will pursue the 6'2 centre back.

Dario Gradi is continuing to pay close attention to Rochdale's Grant Holt. Holt is attracting the interest of numerous clubs including Plymouth, Hull and Swansea. Holt was released by Sheffield Wednesday in the Summer of 2004 and has since impressed for Rochdale. He is the top scorer in League 2 with 14 goals, although 6 of those have been penalties. Holt is good in the air though his poor disciplinary record is believed to have put some managers off parting with the £300k Rochdale are asking for his services.

Crewe have moved to distance themselves from reports linking them with Stockport striker Jermaine Easter.

Crewe continue to deliberate whether or not to meet Linfield's £250k asking price for striker Peter Thompson, who is also attracting the attention of Gretna.

Crewe will listen to offers for striker Steve Jones who is out-of-contract in the summer.

Man City continue to monitor David Vaughan and Billy Jones with City Manager Stuart Pearce believed to have been particularly impressed by Jones.

Eddie Johnson's agent has alerted other clubs to his availability once his loan runs out at the end of December with the striker in search of more regular first team football. Johnson will, however, extend his loan at Crewe if no other clubs come in for him.

Ross Turnbull is keen to extend his loan at Crewe in order to play first team football.

Meanwhile, Ben Williams could be heading to Barnsley on loan in the January transfer window.

Dario Gradi will enquire about the availability of Man Utd hotshot Guiseppe Rossi. The return of striker Louis Saha and Ole Gunner Solskjaer from injury may aid Crewe's chances of loaning the Italian youngster.
