Rodney Jack's Alex future is looking more and more bleak as he is extremely doubtful for Saturday's massive clash with QPR with a reported groin strain, report The Sentinel. Rodney was absent from the Easter weekend games after pulling out of Friday's training session, missing the home defeat to Swindon Town and Monday's victory over Barnsley at Oakwell. Luckily, Steve Jones was at and to make a return and take his place.
Rumours are rife that his absence was the result of a training ground bust-up with a senior member of the Alex backroom staff, but Dario was very tight lipped and seemingly anxious when asked by Graham McGarry of BBC Radio Stoke about the situation. Rodney was also reported to be discussing a possible close-season deal with newly promoted Rushden and Diamonds last Sunday.
Dario: "It is nice to have him (Steve Jones) back, especially as Rodney is missing on Saturday. It turned out that he was feeling the injury in training last week, you never know where you are with him."
