Rodgers Unsettled

On Monday Shrewsbury Town announced they had received and rejected a bid, from Crewe, for Luke Rodgers. Dario Gradi said on Tuesday though that he hadn't made a bid.

Today Luke Rodgers talked for the first time since the supposed bid. The Birmingham born striker who has struck up a hit partnership with former Alex striker Colin Cramb this summer said: "Apparently they've made a bid but I haven't heard anything concrete yet. I've read about it in the paper but nobody's come up to me and confirmed it so I'm a bit confused really.

"To be honest I don't know whether I'm coming or going at the moment."

"I'm not pleased with my performances lately - in the last few games I don't feel as if I've worked as hard as I should have. So I want to forget about this Crewe thing now and start working on my football.

"It's definitely been playing on my mind and it's showed on the pitch because the ball is bouncing up all around me and I'm not relaxed on the ball.

"It's stupid really but I want to get back on form and I want to prove to everybody that I'm a good player."

"Until I put pen to paper I just want to start getting on with my football again."
