Reports suggest that Shrewsbury Town striker Luke Rodgers is to train with Crewe when the squad return from Portugal. The 23-year old forward is out of contract at Shrewsbury and has stated that he will not be re-signing.
Dario has been after the small speedy striker for some time now, and was quoted a £1 million asking price when he bid £100k for the striker in the wake of Rob Hulse's departure. However, it appears that Dario's interest in the player has somewhat subsided over the years as Rodgers has had to ask to come and train in order to prove he is worthy of a deal. The Shropshire Star claimed that Rodgers will begin training with the club on Friday. Shrews boss Gary Peters said, "I think Luke is training with Crewe and he has pretty well said he will not be signing a new contract for us."
