Right In Their Belly

Lee Bell has started a game for the Alex when the Alex played host to Blackpool in the LDV Vans Trophy 2nd round. In that game he battled hard and was pretty dominant for a young inexperienced midfielder.

The 19 year old came into the frame this season after a brilliant pre-season which saw him play in 2 brilliant matches in Malta and now with Brammer and Rix out of the game he's the one to fill the gap and is relishing the chance to shine in such a big game. On CreweAlexWorld he said how he was set to start on the Saturday the game was originally set for but it was called off. At Chesterfield he missed out as Dario went for a 4-2-4 formation playing 50-goal quad Hulse, Ashton, Jones and Jack but after the match Dario admitted he can only use it in a select few matches as the tactic only creates the chances but with the tactic we can't put them chances away.

So tonight will probably see a 4-3-3 kind of formation with either, dare I say it, Ashton or Hulse being left out? It will probably figure something like Ince; Sodje, Walker, Walton, Vaughan; Lunt, Sorvel, Bell; Jones, Ashton/Hulse, Jack. With Jack and Jones hitting Wigan with sheer pace on the wings.

So, although that’s not our strongest 11, I still think the mixture of pace, skill and teamwork will see us take three points.
