Reserves Anger Dario

After the 4-3 defeat at Witton Albion in the Cheshire Senior Cup Dario has dropped a bomb shell on the reserve team as he plans big changes if they aren't going to be challenging the first team for places.

He's promised that players will be either pushing the team or just simply moving on. "There will be repercussions from that game because it simply wasn't good enough.

"We will assess who we think can push on and look at those who will move on."

Players like Ademola Bankole, James Robinson and Paul Edwards are finding it difficult to get into the first team after each having brief spells last season. Meanwhile players like Michael Higdon, Ben Rix and Allan Smart need to start pushing for a starting place in the team.

The club scrapped a official reserve team a few years ago meaning only one off friendlies every now and then with Cheshire Senior Cup games were the only games reserve players will see. With so many youngsters like Higdon, Robinson, Betts and Jeffs who are too old to play in the youth teams but not quite good enough for the first team it's hard for them to push for a place. Maybe one route the club could look at is re-entering the reserve league to give these players weekly games.
