We wanted to sponsor David Vaughan's Home kit and boots... we were about to hand over a cheque when we were told the sponsorer couldn't have it's name printed programme because the PTV Deal(who run the official site) doesn't allow them to advertise unofficial sites in anyway, shape or form.
Now we were about to hand over nearly £200 for the club but just because they might help a supporters site get a few more hundered hits on a saturday(Compared to their 25,000 a day) they are refusing to let me sponsor a player unless i use a sponsor's name which doesn't result in a Crewe site.
The £175 i was willing to put towards supporting Vaughany was mainly made from the 2 years on this site and i'm sure all other unofficial sites will agree on this that it's pathetic. Nothing more nothing less.
It's nothing to do with PTV contracts really as Hull City publish unofficial sites domains in their programme, Notts County publish unofficial sites domains in their programme, Scunphorpe publish unofficial sites domains in their programme and Blackpool let their keepers wear caps which advertise's an unofficial sites - we know this because it's the Blackpool site on the FootyMad network. So why is it one rule for Crewe and another for the rest? - Maybe it's not, maybe Crewe are lying out of their backsides and find being the best Crewe site a challange.
Ok this site may act like we're boasting that we're the best blah blah blah but it's all abit of banter - we get very few hits a day believe me. It seems that Crewe can't handle it if another Crewe site is more popular. CreweAlex.co.uk have always been more popular - Crewe never liked it, they refused to make it the official site.
I love Crewe and respect the, what i don't respect is how the official site is run and their attitude to unofficial sites. My message to them is... For gods sake get your heads out of your arses and support the unofficial sites like we support the club! We're the fans, all we want to do is provide a service to the other fans from another fans point of view it's not a fucking competition!
