Crewe's midfielder Gary Roberts has had his appeal over his red card against Bristol City rejected.
The FA received an appeal yesterday from the club after Roberts was sent off for an alleged tackle on Louis Carey on Saturday.
Crewe boss Dario Gradi thought there was a case after seeing the video of the incident, however the FA have rejected the clubs appeal.
Roberts will now have to serve a three-match suspension in which he will miss Blackpool at home this Saturday, Man United in the Carling Cup next Wednesday and Rotherham United away the following Saturday.
