Railwaymen to look at Liverpool youngster?

With the departure of Paul Bignot to Kidderminster Harriers last Friday, Crewe now only have five senior defenders to call upon and the management team are tying to bring someone in who would do as back up.

Former Liverpool academy player Steve Behan may fit the bill as an ideal replacement for the departed Bignot.

The 18-year-old full back is versatile enough having played at left back and right back for Liverpool's academy side and was part of the team that beat Man Utd in the FA Youth Cup.

Described on the Liverpool official website as small and quick with pace and a strong tackle, Behan would be worth signing up.

In 2005/2006 the youngster suffered a set back and missed part of the season after he was involved in a car crash in which he suffered minor injuries.

Widnes born Behan was a regular in the U-18's but was not offered pro-forms at the end of the season.
