25-year-old Mali International started his career with French side Montpellier HSC in 2001 making 74 appearances over five years.
He then joined German outfit 1. FC Saarbrücken where he made 34 appearances then in 2007 he joined Sportfreunde Siegen making 27 appearances for the southern based German club.
Assoumani joined Leeds United on 17 December and was given a one month contract where he made his debut against Milton Keynes Dons in which Leeds lost 3-1.
