Railwaymen swoop for second Stutes defender.

Crewe have made their second singing of the season by snapping up Histon defender Mat Mitchel-King on a free transfer.

Mitchel-King has signed a two-year contract at the Alex and will look to impress in pre-season training which started on Monday.

Six foot five inch Mitchel-King who is a defender can also operate in the centre of midfield and was captain of Histon last season in which the Stutes just missed out against Torquay in the play-offs and also the reached the 3rd round of the FA Cup knocking out Swindon Town and Leeds United en-route to the 3rd round.

25-year old Mitchel-King who was born in Cambridge has played for both Cambridge clubs City and United before he joined Histon two seasons ago.

During his time at Histon Mitchel-King made 78 appearances netting 3 goals.
