Green has signed with the Railwaymen until December 21st with an option of extending it as the player has no future at Bloomfield Road.
Blackpool boss Simon Grayson signed Green in January 2008 from Championship side Crystal Palace for a fee of £150k but the Green has only played a handful of games and has struggled to command a place in midfield at Bloomfield Road.
27-year-old Green will go straight into the team for the clash against Leyton Orient tomorrow and will look to impress Steve Holland and help the Railwaymen pull out of the relegation zone.
Green who started his career with Newcastle United had a loan spell at Carlisle United and Hull City back in 2001-02 before he signed for the Tigers in 2002 for a fee of £150k. He then had another loan spell at Carlisle before signing for signing for Crystal Palace in August 2006 for a fee of £75k.
Whitehaven born Green has a few disciplinary problems over the years while at Carlisle United and at Hull City.
